Transport Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations while ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong understanding of different types of vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers. The Transport Driver will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our delivery operations. The driver will be responsible for getting to work at 4:00 Am and making deliveries to Macon, Tifton and Marietta during the week. This is a Monday-Friday job.

Duties

Operate a straight truck to and from designated warehouses.
Safely load and unload freight at designated locations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and vehicle maintenance.
Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as necessary for loading and unloading cargo.
Ensure the proper handling of refrigerated trailers to maintain product integrity during transport.
Qualifications

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B minimum with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being operated.
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar transport role.
Familiarity with route driving and logistics planning.
Experience with refrigerated transportation.
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills.
Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) as required during loading/unloading processes.
